Shelf Clip Installation Instructions
- 1. Choose locations of Shelf Clips, preferrably on wall studs, and make level marks for screws (40" max. span between brackets). The clips should be at least 1.5"-2" in from each end of the shelf.
- 2. Install Shelf Clips to the wall.
On Stud: Pre-drill a 1/8" hole, hold Shelf Clip in place as shown above, and screw in the fastner supplied until the clip is tight to the wall. When properly installed, the shelf supports up to 80 lbs.
Hollow Wall: Use a 3/16" x 3" toggle bolt through the Shelf Clip, install, and tighten until the fittings are tight to the wall. When properly installed, the shelf supports up to 60 lbs.
Cement or Other Wall Material: Use the proper fastners.
- 3. Install Shelf. Check the thickness of the shelf. Your brackets are made for either a 3/8"-1/2" or 5/8"-3/4" thick shelf. They are pre-set for a thicker capacity. If a thinner shelf is being used, peel the covering off the mounting tape on the Shelf Clip and locate the supplied plastic insert. Carefully put the plastic insert in place (plastic side up, mounting tape down) on the Shelf Clip. Otherwise, remove the covering off the mounting tape on the Shelf Clip. Put the shelf in place, but make sure it is tilted up so that the shelf does not come in contact with the mounting tape. Make sure the shelf is centered and then with the shelf all the way back, lower the front of the shelf so that the back of the shelf comes in contact with the mounting tape.
